Pilates is a low-impact exercise method that focuses on
strengthening the body with an emphasis on core strength,
flexibility, balance, and posture. Developed in the early 20th
century by Joseph Pilates, it combines precise movements with
mindful breathing techniques to create a full-body workout that
promotes physical and mental well-being.

Pilates exercises can be performed on a mat or specialized
equipment like the Reformer, Cadillac, and Chair, which use
springs and resistance to enhance the workout. The practice is
suitable for people of all fitness levels and is often used for
injury prevention, rehabilitation, and overall body conditioning.

Key benefits of Pilates include:

• Improved core strength and stability

• Enhanced flexibility and mobility

• Better posture and alignment

• Increased body awareness and control

• Low-impact exercise suitable for joint health

Pilates is more than a workout—it’s an investment in your health
and longevity, helping you move better, feel stronger, and live
with greater ease.

Active Release Technique (ART) is a hands-on therapy designed to target soft tissue issues caused by overuse, injury, or
chronic tension. Here’s what it can do for you:

• Reduce Pain: By addressing muscle tightness, adhesions, and nerve entrapment, ART helps alleviate discomfort in
areas like the neck, shoulders, back, and more.

• Improve Mobility: ART restores flexibility and range of motion by breaking up scar tissue and improving tissue
quality.

• Enhance Performance: Whether you’re an athlete or just active in daily life, ART can help optimize movement patterns
and prevent future injuries.

• Speed Recovery: ART promotes faster healing from injuries and overuse syndromes by improving blood flow and
reducing inflammation.

• Address Root Causes: Rather than masking symptoms, ART focuses on identifying and treating the underlying causes
of pain or dysfunction.

It’s a personalized approach tailored to your specific needs, helping you feel and move better.

You are fully clothed for the session. Cotton athletic wear is preferred. By appointment only.

Hi, I’m Stacy Hohman, and I specialize in helping people reduce pain, improve mobility, and
build lasting strength through a unique combination of manual therapy and Pilates.

My journey began in 2016 when I became a licensed massage therapist. Initially, I wanted to help
people relax, but during massage school, I discovered the incredible power of massage to address
real pain. This realization sparked a deep passion for pain management, and I’ve dedicated my
career to learning techniques that deliver results.

In 2018, I earned my first certification in Active Release Technique® (ART) and have since
achieved certifications in full-body and nerve ART courses. I’ve also trained in the Graston
Technique®, further enhancing my ability to address complex pain and mobility issues.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I sought new ways to empower clients to take charge of their
pain management. This led me to certifications in the MeltMethod® and Yomassage®, which
focus on self-care, stress relief, and relaxation techniques. While I’ve primarily focused on
manual therapy, I am excited to begin incorporating these methods into my offerings to provide
more comprehensive support for pain and stress management.

In 2024, I completed 500 hours of comprehensive Pilates teacher training at Reforming
Foundations (Detroit, MI), becoming certified on all apparatuses. As a newly trained Pilates
instructor, I’m passionate about integrating movement into my practice to help clients build
strength, improve alignment, and prevent pain and injuries. Pilates has given me the tools to take
a proactive approach to pain prevention and overall wellness.

Today, I help everyday individuals live with less pain and more confidence by combining manual
therapy and Pilates to build strength, improve mobility, and enhance longevity. Whether you’re
managing pain, looking to build resilience, or seeking to improve your overall well-being, I’m
here to help you move and feel better.

years to come.”
